Fun Things to do in Edmonton June 2023

June officially marks the beginning of summer. The kids are out of school, so you need some family-friendly fun to keep the kids entertained. Here are our recommendations for things to do with your family in Edmonton this June.

International Children’s Festival of the Arts

This decades-old Edmonton tradition features a mix of paid and free events and experiences for children of all ages, like the iconic Luminarium . There are also many featured performances. Check out their website for more information and to pre-book activities. The festival is on from June 1 – 4  at St. Albert’s Place.

The Art of the Brick

The Art of the Brick is the world’s largest brick art showcase, by artist Nathan Sawaya. Check it out from May to October at the TELUS  World of Science.

NextFest

This all-ages event features over 600 artists and over 50 unique shows. Running from June 1 – 11 at the Roxy Theatre, NextFest showcases the very best in homegrown talent in many different art types like music and dance. Price varies by event. 

Royal Canadian International Circus

Juggler at the Royal Canadian Circus

The Royal Canadian International Circus is back in Edmonton for their 2023 tour! Making a stop at West Edmonton Mall from June 8 – 18, the circus is back with a brand new show! Alberta Circus Arts Festival

If you can’t get enough of the circus, you have a chance to learn more about circus arts at the Alberta Circus Arts Festival from June 22 – 25 at La Cité Francophone. Celebrate and larn about everything in the circus arts world, from people flying through the air and using their bodies in incredible ways. There is a mix of free and paid workshops, practices and shows for all ages. Who knows?  You might just run away to the circus.

RavenWood Experience Music Festival

This music festival is family fun for all! Running on June 23 and 24, the RavenWood Experience Music Festival is happening at Broadmoor Lake Park and Sherwood Park. Tickets start at roughly $49 and up. This seems a bit steep, but it’s worth it. There will be live music performances, artist markets, food trucks, a beer tent, a dedicated kids’ zone and more!
